Higher Things

We had the best group of kids for Higher Things. Going into any event as the chaperone has its helping of worry. Will the kids be involved, will they listen, will they have fun? Will there be an emergency? I was feeling all those things on the ride out there, but our group proved very responsible and very fun. Here they are singing Dave Matthews Band songs in the van.

Rob and I were continually asked if we were students, and often no one believed that we were leaders until we told them that we had two kids at home. I guess that is flattering.

Well, like I said, the kids were awesome. They made friends, took notes, asked questions, sang at the top of their lungs and I was proud to be their leader. They were even better at keeping curfew than Rob and I. All I have to say is that I’m sure that Lutherans plan their conference location around dive bars…

Oh my! Everyone’s grown so much. I had to do a double take to recognize everyone. I had a blast when I took the girls to Higher Things in CO and I hope that they did too. It’s great to see that more youth are able to attend from Hope. If you guys are able to come for the wedding, you will be able to check out our amazing seminary. Hrm? And it would great to see you guys again. =) Also, Friday evening we are inviting everyone to come for a pizza and keg rehersal dinner in the church basement. Oh those Lutherans.

Angie! We talked about CO a lot while we were there. We miss you!

I know that we’re not able to come to the rehearsal dinner, we’re taking the kids camping on a farm that night. I want to come to your wedding, we’re trying to work out the details before I RSVP.

Seeing the sem would be a perk. ;)

I would be super excited if you were able to come. I read the previous post so maybe checking out the sem wouldn’t be a bad thing???

I have such found memories of the trip to CO. Oh man, when I tried so hard to take everyone to that huge mountain and it ended up raining and it was so cold. Do you have anymore pictures from the trip? I’m sure everyone would love to see them!

I only brought my mega camera so there aren’t that many pictures. I will upload them to facebook and then you can see what I’ve got.

We were both really impressed with HT. I’m so glad you started the trend of taking the youth from Hope.
